"Since this Galaxy began, vast civilizations have arisen and fallen, risen and fallen, risen and fallen so often that it's quite tempting to think that life in the Galaxy must be
(a) something akin to seasick - space sick, time sick, history sick or some such thing, and
(b) stupid."
- Life, the Universe and Everything, Douglas Adams
Lately, something has become more and more obvious.
People are stupid.
This statement actually answers quite a lot of questions.
As a conformation of this, there was a seminar for suicide prevention this afternoon. At the end of it, the guidance counselor waved around a stack of sheets saying,"If you need the number to call for depression, raise your hand and I'll give you a sheet. I don't want you taking a sheet if you won't use it." At this point, everyone looked around awkwardly and no one raised their hand.
This, my friends, is an example of colossal stupidity. Raising your hand would be like "Hey! Everyone! Judge me!"
I can't believe that a guidance counselor wouldn't get that. She's either really stupid or really stingy with photocopies.
Changing subject, today I made a large list of musicals to watch. Now I'm pumped for March break.
